Today, we'll start our tour by visiting some of the city's major attractions, including Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. We'll also pass by the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph, on our way to Lao's national icon, the That Luang Stupa.
In the afternoon, we'll head north to Vang Vieng, one of Laos' most scenic locations, where you'll be treated to stunning views of the countryside and mountains. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Despite recent developments due to tourism, Vang Vieng has managed to preserve its unspoiled beauty, particularly with its limestone outcrops. After enjoying a hearty breakfast (ABF), you'll be picked up by your guide and car to travel to Elephant Village, where you will be warmly welcomed by the Camp Manager. You'll receive a brief orientation before embarking on an unforgettable 30-minute elephant ride on the Howdah (Elephant seat).
Following this impressive experience, you'll take a boat trip back to Tad Sae Waterfall, where you can spend some leisurely time in the clear water. Lunch will be provided at the Elephant Village Restaurant, which offers a delicious buffet spread along with coffee or tea and drinking water.
Afterward, you'll be returned to your hotel around 1 or 2 PM to enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. Your overnight stay in Luang Prabang promises to be comfortable and relaxing after a thrilling day spent exploring Elephant Village.
